Wrath & Glory

Who hasn’t imagined immersing themselves into the universe of the 41st Millennium? When we create our legions of miniatures, we almost all personalize our color scheme. We develop worlds and heroes, historical battles and conquests of enemy worlds. With Fantasy Flight Games losing the license to sell their system of Dark Heresy and its associated spin-offs, we have been bereft in the void with our proverbial warp engines down.

But like the rise of Guilliman, there is hope on the horizon. On 8/11/17, Games Workshop announced on their Warhammer-Community page the coming of Wrath & Glory; promising to put your role-playing skills to work as soldiers on the field as opposed to the god-like commanders we all see ourselves as being.

In development by Ulisses North America, little is publicly known yet about the game. Set in the time period after the forming of the Great Rift, right at the beginning of 8th edition 40k. It is entirely separate from previous products by Fantasy Flight Games (Dark Heresy, Rogue Trader, etc.), it promises to use a system based around pools of d6s. It claims that it will focus around action and immersion. Whether that means a rule-set akin to the FATE system or the D6 system has yet to be seen. The company aims to launch in 2018 with the release of the core rule book, with other products coming at a later time. More information will no doubt be shared during Ulisses North America’s Gen Con seminar on August 19th.
